When you choose not to listen…

September 30, 2011

What would you think in this  case? How did you get into this or how to get out. I came across this picture a few days back and the following story came to my mind:

A  group of frogs were traveling through the woods, and two of them fell into a deep pit.  When the other frogs saw how deep the pit was, they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead.  The two frogs ignored the comments and treid to jump up out of the pit with all their might. The other frogs kept telling them to stop mentioning they won’t be able to make it out of the deep pit. After a while, one of the frogs took heed to what the other frogs were saying and gave up. He died finally.  The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could.  Once again, the frogs outside yelled at him to stop the effort and just die.  He jumped even harder and finally made it out.  When he got out, the other frogs said,” Did you not hear us?” The frog explained to them that he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him the entire time.

The moral of the story is  not to listen to discouraging words. They dilute your effort. Sometimes you even give up your effort. You can come out of problems no matter how difficult they appear, with persistent effort, if you choose to ignore negative comments. Always encourage others and be surrounded by those who encourage you.
